Elaine Morel: bass player and songwriter with a minor in music from Framingham State College (Framingham, MA). After college, I went on to study jazz bass at the John Payne Music Center in Brookline, MA. Being more of a rock player, I decided to join an all originals alternative band called ‘Static’ in 1987. Static had already produced a cd. We played at the Comedy Connection and TT The Bears Place in Cambridge and took part in a battle of the bands at The Channel in Boston.
In the Berkshires, I have met a lot of great musicians and performed with several bands. Stella’s Revenge featured in the first Lenox Music Festival at the National Music Foundation in 1998, where I also performed in 1999 with Parrott Pie. Like many Berkshire performers, I have also appeared several times on Jerry’s Place on Pittsfield Community Television. The band Pariah debuted in 2007, with Elaine on bass, Dawn Simmons on vocals, Shawn Maschino on guitar and Jess Wehry on drums. Pariah rocked heavy until their final performance October 31, 2009. Recent years bass player for OnTap and Fanny Pack with Melissa Brinton.
